What to do in Orléans in the summer?
Whether you are from Orléans or abroad, there is plenty to do in Joan of Arc's city!
After a second episode of the Été orléanais series dedicated to the Olympic torch passage through Orléans, discover the city's guinguettes.
Every summer, we look forward to their opening. The guinguettes are indeed synonymous with relaxation, celebration and sharing; in short, holidays ! Therefore, they are of significant importance when you don't have the chance to go on a trip, or when you come from outside.
Each of the sixteen guinguettes in the metropolis has its own specificities. You are bound to find what you are looking for according to your expectations and your mood.
As far as I'm concerned, I've already tried Le Ponton many times because of its friendly and festive atmosphere (see article). It is located on Place du Châtelet, in Orléans. I also know La Paillote, located on the Quai de Prague. Its setting and cultural programme satisfy young and old alike, and the view of the Loire and the city of Orléans is sublime.

In Olivet, I was able to test La Bamboche with and without a concert. Located in the Parc du Poutyl, the view over the Loiret river will leave you speechless, especially if you are lucky enough to be there at sunset. Finally, I recently experimented with L’Éphémère Café, located on the banks of the Loiret River, Rue du Bac. I think I enjoyed the bike ride to get there as much as the place itself. There is something magical about the open-air café surrounded with trees and made of wooden tables and chairs. The welcome is warm, and the local drinks a delight.

There are so many other places to explore in the metropolis! Do not hesitate to share your impressions about the guinguettes in the comments.
